Chai recalled the incident when PKR's Machang Bubuk assemblyman Lee Khai Loon had organized a 'kangkung flashmob' and Lim had immediately asked Lee to apologise for his behaviour. Now Lim has taken a different stance when it involved his own party member, Chai noted.

In MUAR, MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong hit out at Lim for accusing him and MCA president Datuk Liow Tiong Lai of "translating" the video clip which ridiculed, among others, the country's leaders and education system.

Wee said this showed that Lim did not watch the video clip which had carried Bahasa Malaysia subtitles.

"Teresa Kok's action does not reflect the Chinese culture of ushering in the lunar new year by wishing for good things," he told reporters after attending a Chinese New Year celebration at Sekolah Tinggi Chong Hwa in Jalan Joned, here.

The function, organised by various Chinese associations in the Muar district, was also attended by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Wee said in Chinese culture, the community would always pray for prosperity and not ridicule others like what Kok had done.

On the MCA extraordinary general meeting on Feb 22, Wee said it was up to the 1,934 delegates to decide whether the party would be represented in the Barisan Nasional government. - Bernama
