EPF bars 171 company directors from leaving country

PETALING JAYA: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has submitted names of 171 company directors to the Immigration Department to bar them from leaving the country due to non-settlement of monthly contributions.

“Although the number is a drop from 240 company directors barred in the third quarter (of last year), we will continue to carry out strict enforcement and ensure that employers and company directors are aware of the consequences for neglecting their responsibility,” EPF public relations general manager Nik Affendi Jaafar said.
