Upko investigating conversion of 74 villagers in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: The United Pasok Momogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko) is investigating claims that a group of 74 villagers in northern Sabah were “tricked” into converting into Islam.

“We found that the conversion process was not conducted in the true spirit of the Federal Constitution that provides for a freedom of worship,” said Upko president Tan Sri Bernard Dompok on Tuesday.
