SHAH ALAM: An arrest warrant has been withdrawn against blogger Papagomo in relation to a violation of an interim custody order involving his two daughters.

Papagomo, whose name is Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, 31, was present in the Syariah Court proceeding yesterday.

Lawyer Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Zain, who represented the blogger's ex-wife Bellina Omar Sharifuddin Chin, 29, informed Justice Mohammad Adib Husain of the retraction of the warrant during a mention in a committal proceeding.

On Nov 27, last year, the High Court issued the warrant when Wan Muhammad failed to show up after receiving a show-cause letter following his non-compliance with the order.

The court also allowed Mohd Zaidi's application to stay the committal proceeding after it was informed that Wan Muhammad had applied for a revision on the order at the Syariah Court of Appeal.

The case is fixed for mention on Feb 26.

Mohd Zaidi later told reporters that the arrest warrant was dropped after Wan Muhammad's lawyer gave the court a verbal guarantee that he would appear in the next proceeding.

Wan Muhammad and Bellina were married on Feb 25, 2006 and divorced on Sept 24, 2012. They have two daughters, Wan Cassandra, 5, and Wan Camillea, 3.
