Welfare Department to meet school authorities

BETONG (Sarawak): An officer from the Social Welfare Department has been assigned to meet two pupils who were allegedly told to eat grass to gather details and to provide counselling if there is a need for it.

A 26-year-old English language teacher of a Chinese vernacular primary school in Sungkai, Perak, had allegedly instructed the Year Four pupils to wear bells around their necks, offered them grass to eat and called them lembu (cows) for not completing their homework.
