GEORGE TOWN: The 120-year-old Silver Chariot bearing the statue of Lord Muruga started its annual journey from the Kovil Veedu (Temple House) in Penang Street to the Nattukotai Chettiar Temple in Waterfall Road at about 6.55am Thursday.
Thousands of devotees in traditional costumes had arrived much earlier to pray for the statue's successful 7.2km journey.
