PKR offers to mediate in bible issue

PETALING JAYA: PKR has offered to act as mediator between the Selan­gor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) and the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) to resolve the raid carried out by Jais at the society’s premises.

Party information chief Dr Muhammad Nur Manuty said it was ready to take the initiative to bring all parties to the negotiating table.

Dr Muhammad said they were concerned with the ongoing dispute, which showed that race relations in the country remained tense, adding that the issue should be resolved immediately for the sake of national unity.

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok said the raid should not have happened.
