Muhyiddin: Selangor Umno acted on its own in protest call

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Umno acted on its own in calling for protests over a Catholic priest’s remarks that churches in the state would use the word “Allah” in reference to God, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

This was based on the state’s laws and the decree issued by the Sultan on the matter, he told reporters after visiting SJK (C) Chung Hwa on the first day of the new school year yesterday.
