Umno assembly: Accept that BN won GE13, Najib tells opposition

KUALA LUMPUR:  Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak flayed the opposition for not being able to accept Barisan Nasional’s victory in the 13th general election.

Najib said the first-past-the-post system, which saw Barisan win 133 of the 222 parliamentary seats, had been the practice ever since the first elections were held in 1959 where the first party that received a simple majority was declared the winner.
