EC deputy chairman Wan Ahmad retires on Thursday

PETALING JAYA: Thursday will be the last day in office for Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, as the 66-year-old is set to retire after serving with the EC for 16 years.

A press statement Wednesday by EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof stated that Wan Ahmad's retirement was under Article 114(3) of the Federal Constitution, which stated that a member of the commission will retire once he reaches the age of 66.
