The body of 8-year-old who fell into the water during fishing trip found

JOHOR BARU: A search and rescue team have found the body of a child believed to be that of Mohd Taufik Abdul Talib, 8, at Pulau Tekong near the border of Malaysian and Singaporean waters here.

Malaysian Fire and Rescue department operation head Yaacob Mariman said Tuesday that the Maritime police found the body at about 11.45am.

"We believe it is the body of Mohd Taufik who was washed away along with his father by strong currents," he said when contacted.

It was reported that Mohd Taufik slipped off the raft where he was fishing with his father and sister at about 4.30pm at Kampung Tanjung Langsat on Saturday.
