KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) Monday after being admitted on Nov 16 for chest infection.
A statement from Dr Mahathir's office said the former prime minister, who was responding well to treatment, left the General Ward of IJN at 10.30am and was accompanied by his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
"He (Dr Mahathir) will however be required to continue with his exercise programme and physiotherapy," it said.
While receiving treatment in IJN, Dr Mahathir, 88, received a visit from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Nov 23 and deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Nov 19. - Bernama
