KUALA LUMPUR: The amount of money sent home by foreign workers has jumped from RRM13.4bil in 2010 to RM19.75bil last year, the Dewan Rakyat was told Monday.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said that since 2009, the amount of overseas remittance transactions had doubled, from an estimated RM10bil to RM20bil, last year due to increased access to non-banking financial institutions that allowed foreign workers to transfer their money to their home countries.
