PETALING JAYA: Police have extended the remand on Ng Yuk Tim’s suspected murderer until Friday.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said the police would wait for instructions from the Attorney-General’s Chambers as the investigations paper had been handed over to them.
In the past week, more than five individuals were brought in by the police to have their statements recorded.
ACP Arjunaidi said only one suspect was believed to be involved in the murder of the 15-year-old.
The police arrested a 23-year-old man last Tuesday, who then led the police to a suitcase containing Yuk Tim’s body in Jalan Kebun Nenas near Kota Kemuning on Oct 22.
He was reported to have confessed to bludgeoning her with a dumbbell.
Scores of mourners paid their last respects to the slain teenager at the Kwong Tong Funeral Parlour last Friday.
In an unrelated matter, City deputy CID chief Asst Comm Khairi Ahrasa said the police would be releasing a photo of six-year-old Nandini’s father today so that the public could assist the police in finding him.
“We hope that by releasing his photo, we will be able to track him down soon,” said ACP Khairi.
Nandini’s father is believed to be the main suspect in the case of her abuse.
Last Friday, her mother and the guardian were both sentenced to a week in jail and a fine of RM1,800 for abandoning the little girl.
ACP Khairi urged the public to contact the police with information on the whereabouts of Nandini’s father.
