Ongkili on clear path to succeed Pairin

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah delegates gave Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili a resounding vote of support for the deputy president post, setting a clear path for the succession of the party led by Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

Party observers see Dr Ongkili’s convincing win as an endorsement, clearing any doubt among the grassroots for him to helm the party with 73-year-old Pairin stating before the last general election that it would be his last term.
