YAN (Kedah): The Sungai Limau by-election on Nov 4 will see a clash between two home-grown personalities with pondok school backgrounds, meaning they had their early Islamic studies at traditional village schools.

This provides the vital ticket for both PAS and the Barisan Nasional candidates to draw the Malay voters, who make up 93% of the 27, 222 voters in the state constituency,
