Parliament: Bill on trafficking of persons, migrants passed

The Prison (Amendment) Bill 2013 was passed at 8.15pm to allow the Minister to set up lock-ups at police stations and courthouses to hold remand prisoners under the Prevention of Crime Act 1959.

On this bill, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said it was to ensure the safety of 28 million Malaysians against the threats of some 43,000 gang members.
