Criminologist lauds crackdown on pirated DVD sellers


PETALING JAYA: The decision to go after those selling products that infringe the intellectual property of content producers in the ongoing Ops Cantas has been lauded by Universiti Sains Malaysia criminologist Prof Dr P. Sundramoorthy (pic).

Co-Advisor of the Organizing Committee and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Networking, School of Social Sciences, University Sains Malaysia, Prof. Dr. P.Sundramoorthy talking during the Press conference of the 2nd National Hotel Security Conference at Eastin Hotel in Bayan Baru,Penang yesterday.
He said the industry which produces pirated products is an illegal trade that is seen working hand-in-hand with underworld elements.
