BATU PAHAT: A 13-year-old boy and his sister were caught packing heroin and syabu at their house in Simpang Empat.

District police chief Asst Comm Din Ahmad said the siblings were nabbed on Oct 7 with four others while processing the drugs and repacking them into smaller packages while their mother was out.

Police seized the drugs worth RM7,740 in various packaging. ACP Din said the drugs could fetch about RM20,000 when sold in smaller packages.

“Some of them were processing the substance when the police arrived.

“Apparently, the activity was carried out when the siblings’ mother was out at work.

“Their father, who is ill at home, was unaware of the matter,” ACP Din told reporters on Tuesday.

A 46-year-old man, believed to be mastermind of the group, was also arrested along with and boyfriend of the boy’s 24-year-old sister. The others are the sibling’s cousin and her boyfriend, both in their 20s.

“We believe the activity began two months ago and the drugs are repacked and resold to customers outside the district,” he said.

The case comes under Section 39B of Dangerous Drug Act for drug trafficking which carries the death penalty.
