Putting the brakes on errant drivers

KUALA LUMPUR: Plans are afoot to take errant motorists who pose a threat to public safety to be taken off the road immediately and have their licences suspended or revoked, said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi.

Under tough new measures being proposed by his ministry, the Road Transport Department can act against those with multiple outstanding traffic summonses even before the offenders go to court, he said at the parliament lobby.
