Umno polls: ‘Sumpah laknat’ to curb money politics

BUTTERWORTH: An Umno candidate has urged those contesting in the Umno elections to take a 'sumpah laknat' to curb money politics.

Batu Kawan Umno deputy chief candidate Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan said that money politics was still rampant on the ground and steps should be taken to stop the 'virus' of money politics.

"Umno's monitoring body is still weak because the workforce is not trained to spot the modus operandi of money politics," he said.

Khairuddin said that sumpah laknat will be effective as Malays with weak principle will tend to be fearful of taking the oath.
