PETALING JAYA: The remand of the couple responsible for their family’s attempted suicide, in which one of their two children was killed, has been extended.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said the man, in his 50s, and his wife, in her 40s, would be under remand for six days until Oct 1.

“We need more time to gather evidence from the house as well as record statements from neighbours.

“The post-mortem has been completed but we are still waiting for the chemist’s report,” he said when contacted yesterday.

The couple was brought to the magistrate’s court here yesterday morning before the remand extension was granted.
