Thai acquitted of raping daughter

SHAH ALAM: A 48-year-old Thai accused of raping his daughter was acquitted by a Sessions Court here without his defence being called.

The technician, in the process of divorcing his Malaysian wife, was charged with raping their then 13-year-old daughter at their home in Bukit Rimau near here at 1am on Oct 24 last year. He was arrested on Nov 14. Judge Mohammed Mokhzani Mokhtar, in his brief judgment yesterday, said that the prosecution had failed to prove prima facie in the case. Ten prosecution witnesses took the stand.
