Cop under probe over escape of Iranian detainee

PETALING JAYA: A 50-year-old police corporal has been suspended pending investigation into the escape of Iranian detainee Rafat Manesh Gavhei Mahmood.

Not ruling out the possibility the escape was an inside job, Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said the corporal, who was injured during a scuffle shortly before Rafat escaped, would be investigated on whether he was involved in aiding the Iranian.
