Sarawak needs 50,000 houses over next five years, says Housing Minister


KUCHING: Sarawak needs about 50,000 new housing units to be built over the next five years under the 1Malaysia People's Housing Scheme (Prima), and by other government agencies, based on a pledge by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government during the recent general election.

State Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg said he would meet with Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan after Aidilfitri to further discuss the matter as there was also requests for new housing, especially in emerging town centres in Samalaju, Bintulu and Mukah.
