Seeing red over JPJ foul-up

Sari Wagimbil, 38, showing the waiting number that she got at about 10am at the JPJ office in PJ. This photo was taken around two hours later, and by then, the waiting number was at around 1340. (A JPJ staff said that a value of 1,000 was appended to the wait number people got, so in this case, Sari's real number is 763).

PETALING JAYA: Many motorists are furious with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) over a computer system upgrade foul-up, making them wait hours and even days to renew their road tax and driving licence that normally takes not more than 10 minutes.

Especially anxious are the hordes of motorists wanting to balik kampung for Hari Raya. Some are forced to risk driving with expired licences because they cannot afford to wait any longer.
