PETALING JAYA: Police have refuted a former Emergency Ordinance (EO) detainee’s claim that he was detained under the preventive law for writing a letter to the then Inspector-General of Police alleging that police were running brothels in Mount Erskine in Penang.
Ambrose Sabastian claimed recently that he was earning a living selling discotheque equipment and doubling up as a disc jockey before a period of detention under the now-repealed EO ruined his life.
