Kedah govt to find solution for Insaniah Holdings staff salary arrears

ALOR STAR: The Kedah state government will look for the best solution to resolve the problems of the Insaniah Holding Sdn Bhd staff, who had not been paid their salary since May.

Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir said the issue over the salary arrears should not have been brought up to the state government because it had no direct link to Insaniah Holding.

"Insaniah Holding is a subsidiary company of Kolej Universiti Insaniah (Kuin), so the state government certainly has no relationship with it because all this while we only dealt with Kuin and not Insaniah Holding.

"But the staff of Insaniah Holding are still demanding that the state government helps in paying the demand for the salary arrears. We understand their situation, so if we resolve the problem it will be outside the jurisdiction of Kuin itself," he told reporters, here Saturday night.

He said the state government would try its best to find a way to pay the salary of the Insaniah Holding out of compassion although it had nothing to do with the Kuin subsidiary company.

Commenting on the statement by PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar that the salary arrears amounted to RM2.7mil, Mukhriz said it was a complicated problem.

He said it was not fair when the state government had to pay the salary arrears. - Bernama
