Census ops ahead of Kg Simunul relocation

KOTA KINABALU: A massive three-day census exercise is under way at Semporna’s notorious Kg Simunul in a first step towards relocating an estimated 2,000 households as part of a move to tighten security in the east coast of Sabah.

Some 150 personnel from the Statistics Department and the Semporna district office started the door-to-door count among the wooden stilt houses in Kg Simunul amid tight security in the operations led by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) early yesterday.
