Residents withdraw appeal over Lynas


PUTRAJAYA: A second group of residents from Kuantan withdrew its appeal against a High Court’s decision in allowing Lynas Corporation Limited and Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd to intervene in its judicial review application on the issuance of temporary operating licence (TOL) to operate the Lynas plant in Gembeng, Kuantan.

The residents, Mohamed Taufiq Teng Abdullah, G. Santha, G. Ponusamy, Idrus Awang, Ou Dai Foo, Zaharah Awang and Chong Kong Yuen withdrew their appeal yesterday following the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of the appeal of the first group of residents on a similar intervener application.
