Animal rights groups irate over low RM195 fine for abusing dog


PETALING JAYA: For the cruel act of chaining up a dog under the blazing hot sun, an animal abuser was fined the meager sum of RM195.

Murugesu Vijhaya Singam, 44, was fined RM195 after being found guilty under the Section 44(1)(d) Animals Act 1953, at the Ampang Jaya Magistrate’s Court Thursday for chaining and padlocking a dog under the sun.
