Johor Islamic Council wants law to stop Muslims from taking part in beauty pageants


JOHOR Islamic Affairs Council adviser Datuk Mohd Noh Gadut has urged authorities to come up with a special law to stop Muslims from participating in beauty pageants, reported Berita Harian.

He said although there was a fatwa banning Muslims from taking part in such events, no stern action had been taken against organisers or participants.
