PETALING JAYA: The driver of the car involved in the hit-and-run injury of three women runners surrendered to the police on Tuesday.
Petaling Jaya Deputy OCPD Supt Fadil Marsus said the 29-year-old landscape designer lodged a police report at the PJ traffic police station at 1pm where he was then arrested.
He has been remanded for investigations.
On Sunday, three women runners were injured when they were hit by a car in a charity run organised by NTV7 in Bandar Utama.
The victims, Lim Lee Ling, 43, Lee Shiau Foon, 33, and Lee Su San, 24, were hurt when a red car rammed into them after making a u-turn at 8am.
Eyewitnesses said the driver of the Proton Iswara did not stop and drove away.
According to traffic police, traffic wardens were present at the junction where the accident occurred at KM14 of the route.
St John's Ambulance personnel responded to the accident and stabilised the victims before they were brought to the medical tent.
They were sent to University Malaya Medical Center later and traffic police began investigations.
