Chemist: DNA of accused found on swab from rape victim


KOTA KINABALU: The DNA of a 40-year-old restaurant manager charged with raping a 13-year-old girl was found in a vaginal swab taken from the schoolgirl who he later married, the Sessions Court was told.

Chemist Rina Nawi told Sessions judge Ummu Kalthom Samad that the DNAs of both Riduan Masmud and that of the girl were found on the cotton swab sent for analysis at the Kuching Chemistry Department on May 29.
