JOHOR BARU: The state PAS has filed four elections petitions to challenge the results of the recently-held 13th general election.
The petitions were filed for three state seats of Gambir, Mahkota and Nusajaya and the Pulai parliamentary seat.
The petition was filed by lawyers Mohd Fikah Sanusi and Mohd Zulkhairi Ab Aziz at the civil court in Menara Cyberport here Monday morning.
Mohd Fikah Sanusi said these would be the only petitions filed by the state PAS and were under the Election Offences Act.
"We hope that the judge will decide on our favor so that a re-election will be called for the mentioned seats," he said.
Meanwhile, in KUALA TERENGGANU, the party has filed two petitions to challenge the results for the Hulu Besut and Kuala Berang state constituencies, Bernama reported.
State PAS liaison secretary Yahaya Ali told media that the petitions were filed Sunday.
"Both the petitions were filed on grounds of corruption, following studies carried out by PAS on corrupt practices during the 13th general election," he added. - Bernama
