PUTRAJAYA: The Transport Ministry has proposed for a review of licensing procedures for boats and ferries plying rivers in Sarawak, following the Belaga boat tragedy where at least one person died after an overloaded ferry capsized in the Balui river.
Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the Marine Department has already been ordered to look into licensing procedures currently used to manage vessels in the state.
