Arrest warrant for religious teacher


PUTRAJAYA: The Court of Appeal has issued a warrant of arrest against religious teacher Halimah Hussein and adjourned an appeal hearing against her and two others’ acquittal over alleged terror activities.

Halimah, 52, former Internal Security Act detainee Yazid Sufaat, 49, and cafeteria helper Muhammad Hilmi Hasim, 33, had been acquitted and discharged by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on May 20. They had been accused of promoting acts of terrorism in strife-torn Syria.
