YONG PENG: The issue of Pulai Sebatang assemblyman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong's appointment as Johor exco will be discussed at the party's central committee meeting on Tuesday said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
“But I would like to stress that the party did not recommend Tee for the position in the Johor executive councillor line up and we have clarified a lot of times that the appointment was solely the Johor Sultan's wish,” he said here Sunday.
Dr Chua said that Tee's case would also be passed to the party's disciplinary board for evaluation and Tee would have the opportunity to give his side of the story.
Tee was put in charge of the state's Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism portfolio and was sworn-in for the position on May 14.
Dr Chua had said before that the MCA would not accept any Government positions if it fared poorly in the May 5 general election.
