PUTRAJAYA: An election manifesto is not enforceable in law, ruled the Court of Appeal in striking out a civil suit brought by a group of single mothers against the Selangor Government for RM10.9mil in allowances.

In the landmark decision, the three-man panel led by Justice Hishamudin Yunus also unanimously allowed the appeal by the Selangor Government and Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to set aside an earlier decision of a Shah Alam High Court.
