PETALING JAYA: Fifty-eight years ago, during the country's only pre-Merdeka general election, Datuk Abdul Wahab Abdul Majid contested as an independent candidate as he could not agree with Tunku Abdul Rahman's idea of how the new nation should be formed.
The people then were all abuzz and preparing for the birth of their new nation and for Abdul Wahab, he preferred a constitution with less British influence.
