PUTRAJAYA: It's still early days in the 13th General Election, but the Election Commission (EC) has already had to deal with at least two individuals posing as election observers.

EC deputy chief Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the two had attempted to pass themselves off as election observers in Kelantan on nomination day.

"However, they were found out and police detained them. Police took statements from the two individuals and released them on police bail," he said at a press conference here on Monday.

Wan Ahmad added that they had to also issue a warning to an election observer in Selangor for getting in the way of the nomination process.
