LAHAD DATU: Residents of Kampung Tanjung Labian, affected by a lack of electricity and access to information, fear they will miss out on GE13 developments.
The village, the site of skirmishes between Sulu gunmen and Malaysian security forces, are seeking a special briefing on the elections from authorities.
"There are many new developments for voters in the coming GE13. Is there going to be a special process considering the security issue here?" asked Arip Abdul Talib, 50.
Siti Kharijah Ujaman, 55, whose house was burned down during the fighting, hoped she would be able to receive information on GE13 as soon as possible.
"We are finding it difficult to get any information and depend heavily on news from sources," said Siti, adding she was still keen to know about the progress of the elections despite security concerns. - Bernama
