SITIAWAN: Perak PAS unveiled its candidates for two state assembly and two parliamentary seats.
Of the four candidates, two were new faces - Lumut PAS Muslimah chief Rohawati Abidin who will replace Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin to contest the Pasir Panjang state seat and former Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Fauzi Shaari, who will stand in the Larut parliamentary seat.
Perak PAS commissioner Abu Bakar Hussain, who made the announcement Tuesday, also named Nazri Din for the Kubu Gajah state seat and Idris Ahmad, replacing Mohammad Nizar to stand in the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat.
Abu Bakar said this during a ceramah at Kampung Permatang, Pasir Panjang, here on Tuesday.
Nazri will be contesting the Kubu Gajah seat for the second time while Idris contested and lost in Jerlun in 2008.
Mohammad Nizar will stand in the Changkat Jering state seat, as announced during a ceramah in Air Kuning late last month.
Abu Bakar also said that PAS would be contesting 22 state seats and seven parliamentary seats.
"We will announce the remaining candidates together with PKR and DAP on Apr 18," he said.
