KUALA LUMPUR: Hollywood stars and well-known personalities dazzled guests at the glitzy SapuraKencana Petroleum Malaysia Grand Prix Charity Gala 2013 here.

The likes of fashion model Kimora Lee Simmons, suave actor Josh Hartnett, singer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher shared the same red carpet at Majestic Hotel last night and left many starstruck.

Some of the celebrities are here for the first time, including Hatcher, who looked elegant in her one-shoulder dark gold dress.

When met, she said she was looking forward to visiting Malaysia and the Batu Caves temple in particular.

Earth Wind & Fire's percussionist and vocalist Ralph Johnson, who was with his wife Susie, said he was rooting for the Mercedes team in the grand prix race.

“My favourite racer is Lewis Hamilton. He is the first man of colour to get into the Formula One industry and that is something to be proud of,” said Johnson, whose band is famous for funky and smooth tunes like Let's Groove, September and Fantasy.

Present at the event were guests of honour the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah who were treated to a riveting and soulful performance by Babyface.

Also present were the wife of the Prime Minister Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Malaysian squash queen Datuk Nicol David. The guests then joined F1 racers such as Hamilton for dinner.

During the event, a charity auction was held whereby proceeds of about RM200,000 were given to the National Heart Institute.

The grand prix race will be held from today until Sunday.
