LAHAD DATU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razk has declared the east coast of Sabah a special security area and an additional five battalions of the police and armed forces will be stationed there to maintain peace and order.
The area covers Kunak, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan and Semporna where security forces have been conducting mopping up operations to flush out the Sulu gunmen.
