PETALING JAYA: The authorities have been urged to prepare a strong case when prosecuting in animal abuse cases. This is because offenders are expected to challenge the charges due to the stiff penalties likely to be imposed when the Animal Welfare Bill becomes law.
Malaysian Animal Welfare Society president Shenaaz Khan said this meant the Veterinary Services Department and other authorities should present an “ironclad” case against offenders.
