Devotees brave downpour to pay homage to Jade Emperor

GEORGE TOWN: A downpour which lasted for more than two hours did not dampen the spirit of Hokkien devotees who turned up at the Chew Jetty in Weld Quay to celebrate the Thni Kong Seh (Jade Emperor God's birthday).

Devotees started arriving as early as 7pm but had to take shelter in coffee shops and other outlets along the road when it started to rain heavily at about 9pm.
