GEORGE TOWN: Some 50 people gathered at a mosque here and demanded that Pakatan Rakyat change its stand that non-Muslims can use the word “Allah”.

Penang Muslim Network spokesman Arif Ibrahim said the word “Allah” was exclusive to Muslims.

He also said Pakatan Rakyat should withdraw its decision reached during a meeting on Jan 8 that non-Muslims could also use the word “Allah” as long as it was not misused against Muslims.

“If they do not withdraw the decision, we will teach them a lesson in the coming general election,” Arif, who claims to be a Tanjung PAS member, said during a demonstration here.

The protest was held in front of the Kampung Rawa mosque yesterday.

He said another protest may be held at Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's Chinese New Year open house on Feb 10 at the Penang International Sports Arena.
