Set to tie the knot: Nik Aziz will not be solemnising the marriage of Apek and Leuniey as he has to attend a state pardons board meeting.

DATUK Nik Aziz Nik Mat, who was due to solemnise the marriage of football star Khairul Fahmi Che Mat and his sweetheart Leuniey Natasha Nazri on Friday, has cancelled the plan, Harian Metro reported.

The Mentri Besar said he would be occupied the whole day at the meeting of the state pardons board, which the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, would also be attending.

Nik Aziz has also cancelled all other programmes for that day, including his weekly religious lessons.

The daily quoted his press secretary Ahmad Fadhli Shaari as saying his boss extended his apologies to the family of the 23-year-old national goalkeeper, who is also known to his fans as Apek.

The akad nikah ceremony is scheduled to be held at the home of the bride's parents in Pasir Pekan, Tumpat.

> Businessman Datuk Khalid Muhamad Jiwa, who was involved in a motorcycle mishap in New Zealand two weeks ago, will return home on Friday, Kosmo! reported.

The husband of singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, who is better known as Datuk K, has made good recovery and will be allowed to return to Malaysia, tweeted his son Asyraf.

“Dad's getting better. Coming back on 28th, I think,” said Asyraf.

His father was warded at the Southland Hospital in Invercargill following an accident on Dec 13 that caused a broken shoulder and injuries to his hands and legs.
