GEORGE TOWN: The number of Indians involved in violent crime has increased so much that Penang police have set up a task force to handle such cases.
State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said Indians were involved in 271 cases last year compared to 321 cases to date, an increase of 18.5%.
